Different Stars for Different Times: Memoirs of a Woman Doctor
This autobiographical account traces the story of Dr Margaret Guthrie following her return to New Zealand in 1963 as a widowed mother of three children. She describes her experiences as a medical officer in an Airforce Base and as New Zealand's first female medical superintendent of a major hospital in the 1970s. Since the 1980s Margaret has been at the forefront of gerontology in New Zealand.
